The Light and the Glory This is a good overview too. Recently written Providential history of early America. Columbus through War for Independence. At varience with the teachings in many public schools and academic institutions today, the authors present copious amounts of research to support their opinions. Were the Puritans sin-obsessed hypocrites that modern writers depict them? Did they believe they were a new chosen people? And was it God's will for Christians in the Colonies to take up arms against England or was it rebellion? Countering these claims and more, The Light and the Glory presents a uniquely Christian lens through which to view the founding, settling and current state of America. 384 indexed pages, softcover. |

Landmarks and Liberty: The 2003 Faith & Freedom Tour Audio CD Set By The Vision Forum, Inc Once upon a time, there were giants in the land. We have forgotten about these giants because we have removed the ancient landmarks from our children. Those landmarks were the histories of God's providential mercies, once told to every schoolboy and girl by grateful fathers and mothers. To build a future for our children, we must remember the past, but we must see the past through the lens of biblical Christianity. We must be grateful for the hand of God in our nation and we must teach our children to be grateful (Psalm 78). Toward this end, Vision Forum Ministries is pleased to present Landmarks & Liberty: The 2003 Faith & Freedom Tour, recorded on location in historic Massachusetts. From Plymouth Rock to Boston Harbor to Lexington Green - through this album you will learn about the signing of the Mayflower Compact, the Witch Trial proceedings at Salem, the Battle of Lexington with its "shot heard round the world," and more. Listen as Doug Phillips, Paul Jehle, and Richard "Little Bear" Wheeler tell the stories of the godly Pilgrims, Puritans, and Patriots of early New England who helped forge our nation even as they kept covenant with God.8 CDs, 600 minutes. |

The first published account of the coming of the Pilgrims to the New World to settle Plymouth Plantation, this new edition retains some archaic original pages, as well as an old-fashioned yet modernised font, with the "long s" shortened to the modern "s". The familiar stories of the Pilgrim's finding buried corn, Francis' Billington's sons' mischief and more are all told here from an eyewitness perspective. 96 pages, softcover. |

The Legend of Squanto Focus on the Family Radio Theatre on CD By Tyndale House In history books, "Tisquantum" earns a brief mention as the Native American who taught the Pilgrims to fish and farm. Many credit him with America's very first Thanksgiving. But few people know of the tragic events that saw him carried in chains to foreign lands... or what he found when his long exile finally ended. From the slave auctions in Spain to the luxurious splendor of an English manor house, Squanto endured great cruelty yet discovered remarkable kindness at the hands of the white men. He had been forcibly taken by those who thought he was no better than a dumbstruck savage and prized for his brute strength. When at last he had earned the right to go home, it was a much different journey. As he willingly boarded their ship westward in 1619, he brought the one thing these Englishmen didn't possess: a voice that could bring understanding between Native Americans and those who wished to conquer them. As he faced the salty winds, his mind raced to the reunion ahead and the certain welcome he would receive as a brave warrior who had seen more in a few years than most would in a lifetime. At the first signs of familiar land his heart pounded ... but where was the smoke from the village fires? Why was a cold silence the only sound to greet him? The Legend of Squanto is more than a story about an honest man who triumphed over tragedy. It is also a tribute to forgiveness, integrity and the ability to look beyond the color of a man's skin. 100 Minutes. 2 CDs. |

Puritans vs. Witches - Audiobook on CD By The Vision Forum, Inc Perhaps the most godly group of Christians to populate North America were the Puritans of New England. Yet no group has been more ruthlessly vilified by modern historians, and no subject more misrepresented than their infamous Salem Witch Trials. In this brilliant, scholarly presentation, Dr. Paul Jehle goes beyond the popular rhetoric to expose the truth. He reveals both the wisdom and the failures associated with the Trials, and he makes the case that God used them to lay the foundation for the greatest revival in American history - the Great Awakening. 1 CD. 64 minutes. |

"Forgotten Founding Father" is an incisive look at the qualities of leadership that made him such an effective and powerful figure in both England and America and left a legacy that continues to this day. |

Patriots vs. Tories - Audiobook on CD By The Vision Forum, Inc The British described the War for Independence as a "Presbyterian parson's rebellion," because of the overwhelming influence of the American clergy on our battle for freedom. But was the War biblically justified? Could the actions of the Founding Fathers be described as justifiable self-defense or as rebellion? When, if ever, is it lawful to resist authority? How should we apply the principles of submission to authority as articulated in Romans 13 and elsewhere in Scripture? In this well-reasoned lecture, Dr. Joe Morecraft presents the biblical and historical Reformation view. 1 CD. 1 hour, 20 minutes. |

Give Me Liberty: The Christian Patriotism of Patrick Henry By David Vaughan / Cumberland House Publishing Patrick Henry was one of Virginia's greatest sons and America's greatest heroes. Heralded as the "Trumpet of the Revolution," he not only captured the imagination of the masses but also commanded the reverence and respect of his contemporaries, men like Washington, Jefferson, and Madison. Historians speak of the "shot heard 'round the world." For more than two hundred years, the impassioned rhetoric of Patrick Henry-"I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!"- delivered in 1775 at the second Virginia Convention, has resounded in the hearts and minds of all who love freedom. Henry's life embodied the spirit of American courage and patriotism, a spirit that has inspired struggling peoples around the globe ever since. Give Me Liberty goes beyond the oratory and eloquence to portray this remarkable man, his family, his ideas, and his times as they actually were. |

Christians vs. Deists - Audiobook on CD By The Vision Forum, Inc These days, it is not surprising to hear leading Christian thinkers refer to our Founding Fathers as Deists. In so doing, they mimic the gobbledygook being spouted by the architects of historical confusion which dominate modern academia. The time has come to set the record straight, and no one is better suited to handle the job than historian and theologian, Dr. Joe Morecraft. Morecraft presents the founders as real men, but men who operated in a distinctively Christian and Calvinistic cultural consensus. He ably rebuts the counter arguments presented by those who oppose the providential view of American history. By Joe Morecraft. 1 CD. 62 minutes. |

Wives of The Signers By David Barton / Wallbuilders History has been all too glad to acknowledge the courage and bravery of the men who put their lives on the line when they signed the Declaration of Independence. Yet, it is often forgotten that those very same men had wives and families. Brief, due to lack of historical data, but poignant, especially when we have snippets of their letters and diaries, these accounts of the brave founding women of America are filled with a brand of courage all their own. Even among those who died due to exposure, being turned out of their homes, or even in jail for supporting the Revolution, one doesn't find a single word of complaint, but rather an unswerving devotion to their husbands, and their husbands' causes. This unique book pays homage to the women of the Revolution, allowing readers a glimpse into their lives that have for so long been neglected. 283 pages, softcover. |
